Social Home is licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. The full text is reproduced below.

Every repo in the Social Home project — server, client, HA integration, HA add-on, and this website — is licensed under the Mozilla Public License Version 2.0 (SPDX: MPL-2.0).

What that means in plain language:

  • You can use, modify, and distribute the code, including inside commercial products.
  • If you change MPL-2.0-licensed files and ship them, you must publish those changed files under MPL 2.0.
  • You don’t have to open-source your wider project — only the files you changed.
  • There’s no warranty; we’re a small project.

Full text

The canonical full license text lives at mozilla.org/MPL/2.0/. Each repo also ships a LICENSE file at its root with the verbatim text — for example, social-home-io/socialhome/LICENSE.

Reusing this site

The copy and visual design on social-home.io are also MPL 2.0-licensed via the website repo. If you want to reuse a paragraph or a component, please credit Social Home and link back.
