Marketplace

A classifieds board scoped to the people you already trust — list things to sell, give away, or auction inside a space, with no platform fees and no strangers.

Most marketplaces put your stuff in front of strangers and take a cut. Social Home’s Marketplace does the opposite: listings live inside a space, so only the households in that space — your street, your building, your extended family — ever see them. No platform fees, no boosted listings, no data sold to anyone.

You’ll find it inside any space that has it enabled, alongside the feed, chat, and calendar.

Listing types

When you post an item you pick how you want to sell it:

  • Fixed price — one price, first to take it wins.
  • Best offer — buyers send what they’d pay; you choose.
  • Starting bid — a floor price that offers build up from.
  • Negotiable — an asking price that’s openly up for a chat.
  • Auction — a timed sale with a live countdown; highest bid when the clock runs out takes it.

Prices show in your chosen currency (euro by default). A listing runs for 1, 3, 5, or 7 days, then expires on its own — and its status moves through active → sold / expired / cancelled so nobody chases a thing that’s already gone.

It stays inside the space

A listing is scoped to the space it’s posted in. It federates to the other households in that space — and to nobody else. By default it won’t even announce itself in the space feed; flip on the feed shout-out per listing if you want the extra visibility.

Because Marketplace rides the same household-to-household federation as everything else, there’s no central catalogue to browse, no third party brokering the sale, and no fees. It’s a notice board for people who already know each other.
